Cremation May Your Best Choice

Posted on

When your loved one dies, there are several decisions that you are going to have to make. One of them is whether you are going to have your loved one buried or if you are going to have them cremated instead. There are several good reasons why you might want to go with cremation as the option.

Delayed Memorial Service

One reason that you might want to go with cremation is that you can have a delayed memorial service for your loved one. One way to do this is to have your loved one cremated and then you can keep their ashes in an urn. Then, when it is safe to do so, have a gathering where everyone can remember your loved one, tell stories about them, and then say goodbye to them. You can also divide up ashes among family if that is what everyone wants to do.

Transportation

If your loved one has died far from family, you may need to arrange to have their body brought from where they are to where you are. That can be a difficult and expensive process. However, if you decide to have them cremated where they are and then have their cremains sent to where you are, it will be a much less difficult procedure to get your loved one where you want them.

Cost

A funeral can be really expensive, and if money is tight, it might not be something that you can swing easily. Cremation is generally much less expensive than burying your loved ones. When you decide to cremate instead of bury, there are a lot of things that you can dispense with, including things like having to have a burial plot, vault, and decorative casket. There are caskets that are designed specifically for cremations that aren't necessarily fancy, which can be a really good choice if you are going to choose to not have a visitation or funeral service right then. If you later want to bury your loved one's ashes or put them in some kind of vault, you have that option, and you should be able to inter them at a lower price since cremains take up less space than a body will.

If you have just lost a loved one, you may be concerned with trying to figure out what you are going to do with their remains. Cremation can be one really good choice. Contact a cremation service for more information.
